Homeless Dennis Mahurin Won Lottery But Did Not Leave His Tent

Dennis Mahurin, a Michigan resident after winning a hefty $50,000 jackpot could have made grand plans. He has been living in a tent for more than 20 years but this time after being blessed with so much of cash prize, he could move out of the tent. But he did not do so. 

Mahurin had been living in homeless community of Bloomington since 1978. He was utterly surprised when he scratched off the ticket and found himself the winner. He immediately decideded that he would stay in his tent as he used to do previously and he will contribute some money to help others. Can you imagine how great the Illinois man is? 

He lives with all the homes people around and he declared the media that he would give them each $100. The ones who know him well have praised him by saying that he has been upstanding always. 

Sandra Rankin, an employee of the gas station from where he got the tickets stated that Maurin is simply a great guy with a good sense of humor. She has lot of care and concern for him and he is a very decent person. She knows the person since long because he comes at her store three to four times in a day. 

There are some who say that there is a curse related to winning and taking the jackpot home. But Maurin has set a real example and has shown how cash won in lottery can be used for the good.
