Players of lowa Lottery continues to win the mega prizes across the state- especially Mahaska County.

Carol Mcgraw was the biggest instant-scratch game winner in Mahaska County during year 2014. Winning $10,000 in Cash Flurries game with a ticket he bought at Andersons Country Store in Beacon.

Jashim Ahmed from Ottumwa was the county's latest lotto winner during the same period (2014), winning $3,008 in Hot Lotto game with a ticket purchased at Hy-Vee in Oskaloosa. 

Iowa Lottery players won a total of $186.9 million in prizes in year 2014. However, there are a significant number of prizes that expire each year without being claimed. The lottery officials remind its players to double check their tickets. There are $1.4 million in lotto prizes got expired in lowa without being claimed them.

Unclaimed prizes money will be used for future games and promotions. So, it will be used to pay prizes too.
