The spirit of sharing the joy of winning lotteries to others is not only emerging in Europe and in the US but also in Asia. After a couple from the UK who were willing to share some of their cash to the Olympic torch bearer boy who needed to get a prosthetic leg a few weeks ago, a lottery winner from Taipei is also willing to share some of their jackpot they won.
Eric Li-luan Chu, the New Taipei Mayor thanked the winner of NT$654M cash in the lottery in July for his NT$13.5 million (US$455,018) donation given to the government on Tuesday, 11 September 2012. Eric said that this money will be maximally used to help the handicapped people in the country who are facing many problems with the facilities and other special needs. Building new infrastructures for the handicapped people and giving more training are some of the plans made by the government to make use of the money.
When the program is done, a lot of handicapped people will definitely want to thank this generous lottery winner for giving the donation. However, it will be quite hard for them to address the person personally because the lottery winner wants to stay anonymous.
