Do you often feel worried because you rarely win the first prize in a lottery? Do you want the first place yet it seems so far away? You should relax because the first winner does not always get the biggest amount of money.
From the most recent National lottery drawing last weekend, lottery players are made to believe that second winning can mean more money. There were five winners winning the first prize worth £4.8m and because they had to share that money, they will not scoop as much as the second winner who was the only person holding the winning tickets.
The amount of £4.8m is going to be divided by 5 players which means that each of them will take £968,000 home. On the other hand, the second place winner will be taking almost £1.5m for himself because he was the only person with the matching ticket.
It is a good news for the second winner and it proves another opinion that anything can happen in a lottery drawing. According to a staff from Camelot, the situation where the 1st place winner takes less money than the 2nd winner hardly ever happens in the National Lottery or the others but it seems that fortunes want to come to more people this year.
