Canada Lottery official has announced that there are two winners scooping around $15 million drawn this week. The prize is split into 2, $7 millions won by a lucky player from Kelowna and the other half is won by someone from Ontario. The ticket itself was purchased in Kelowna but the official will not share the exact place of where the ticket was bought until the winners come forward to claim his prize.
Fortunately, a day after that, a couple from Kelowna, Mary and Tom Weddell, claimed that they had the winning ticket. They were not aware that they won the jackpot until they heard from the radio that someone from Kelowna got the jackpot. They are so happy although they do not know yet what to do with the money.
Previously, Chris Fairclough, the spokesman of the British Columbia Lottery Commission said that the winners have around 12 months to claim for the prize but if no winners turn in the winning ticket during the period then the money will be donated for charity, health care and also educational institutions. The winners are expected to come to the office in Vancouver or in Kamloops to cash the prize.
