Perhaps the thought of keeping a lottery winner’s name a secret can bring more benefits and keep the winners away from frauds and even murders, referring to a murder case trial which is still in progress in Tampa, Florida. Debby Moore, (40) who is accused of killing a lottery winner, Abraham Shakespeare back in 2009, probably did not have any cruel intentions to kill him and steal his money if she hadn’t known that he was a $30 Million jackpot winner.
According to the jury, Moore ripped Shakespeare off after his winning and she finally killed him and hide his body behind a concrete block. This is definitely a terrible case that could ever happen to a lottery winner. Shakespeare was just an ordinary man working as a truck driver assistance paid $8 an hour. He was a regular lottery player and he won the lottery after buying a $2 ticket matching with the jackpot of $30 Million. Knowing that Shakespeare had just become a new millionaire, Moore pretended to be a lottery advisor and gave him advice on what to do with his money. Moore took over all of his assets and when nothing left, she killed him.
This should be a good lesson for a lottery winner to NEVER trust anyone trying to be nice to you after you win a lottery. Being nice and helpful is good but trusting someone with the big money after the winning is not recommended at all. So if you win the most recent Powerball jackpot of $425 Million, just be really careful with it.
