Lottery Sales Hit $35.5 Billion in China

There is good lottery news from the biggest country in Asia, China, that the lottery sales have increased rapidly for the past two years and it has hit $35.5 billion (more than 221 billion Yuan), giving million dollar donation to the education, for elderly people and for the needy people in the country.

Lottery has been introduced in this country since 1980s but it has not reached many players until this year (2012) Just like the El Gordo in Spain where the increased lottery players and prizes are very visible, Chinese Lottery also increases its punters and the ticket sales in Christmas time, and also in January, when the Spring Festival is believed to give them good fortune in the Chinese New Year.

Based on some surveys, the increased lottery sales in China are greatly affected by its improved economy. As more people in the country have more permanently well-paid jobs, people are not afraid to spend more budgets on lottery. On the average, the lottery players in China are from the productive ages, between 26 to 34 years old with low or middle monthly income of 400 USD until 800 USD.
