The game grew rapidly in popularity reaching a sales peak in its second year of nearly $30 million. By 2013 The Washington Hit 5 had achieved over $150million in ticket sales, effectively just over 1% of the $11.8 billion in sales in Washington for that year.
Playing The Washington Hit 5
The Washington Hit 5 is an “in-house” draw game where five numbers are chosen between 1 and 39. The jackpot is won by matching all five numbers while the initial prizes begin once two numbers have been matched. The Jackpot begins at $100,000 but will continue to grow if not collected as an unclaimed Jackpot will be carried over into the next draw. This “roll-over” will continue until such time as a jackpot is won at which point it will reset back to $100,000.
The Washington Hit 5 is played three times per week with draws being held on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday and it is possible to purchase advance tickets for games up to ten draws in advance of the current game.
In order to play the Washington Hit 5, players must be aged 18 or over.

Prizes valued at $600 or less can be claimed at a Washington Lottery retailer. Prizes with a value above $600 need to be claimed at a Lottery office; however an appointment will be required for any prizes valued at $100,000 or more.
