While the ABC advises people to do several researches and collect data to make some statistics so that they can choose the least frequent numbers to appear, King strongly suggests that people trust their intuition and believe in coincidences. According to King, lottery winners are often those who look out for twist of fate to change their lives rather than those who put it on statistics.

Meanwhile, Glynnis McCants, a celebrity numerologist, thinks that luck in lottery winning deals with life path. She claims that someone who has number 5 as her or his life path will have much bigger chances to win the lottery. To know the life path, people have to break down and add the numbers in their birthdays. For example; if someone was born on the 13 Aug 1980, his life path will be 1+3+8+1+9+8+0= 30, 3+0=3, so the life path is 3. If someone’s life path is not 5, the chance to win a lottery is quite small.

Another thing that can affect the luck of winning a lottery, according to Paul Smith, a dowsing practitioner, is the use of ESP skill when predicting. Extra Sensory Perception (ESP) is people’s ability to forecast things in the future without involving their normal senses. It includes dowsing, some subconscious mind that can control the responses of the muscle to decide in some problems including when people have difficulties to choose the best numbers.
